Taraji P. Henson walked the red carpet at the 55th NAACP Image Awards on Saturday in Los Angeles wearing a brightly colored gown from Del Core’s spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection.
“The Color Purple” star arrived in a florescent yellow dress that featured a large sculptural bodice. The 3D detail was adorned with small crystals and shaped organically around the bustline and waist. Additionally, the star’s strapless dress featured a small train.
Del Core’s spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection featured similar sculptural details integrated into the shoulders, hips and necklines of different looks.
Henson kept her dark brown tresses slicked into a low braided ponytail and focused her makeup around the eyes, sporting a soft matte eyeshadow across her lids and mauve shade on her lips. The star styled her look with a bold faux-chainlink necklace and matching silver sandals.
Henson was dressed by styling team Wayman and Micah, the same stylists who crafted the star’s look for the American Black Film Festival Honors with a strapless gown from Nicole by NF. Additionally, the stylists have worked with a number of other stars, including Da’vine Joy Randolph, Colman Domingo and Jon Batiste.
The 2024 NAACP Image Awards honor the accomplishments of Black creatives in film, television and music. Queen Latifah hosted the ceremony and winners were announced prior to the show’s air date. This year’s honorees include Usher, H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion, June Ambrose and Ciara.
