The stars and creative team behind Luca Guadagnino’s new film “Queer” attended the film’s red carpet premiere during the 2024 Venice Film Festival on Tuesday. Among the designers celebrities wore on the red carpet, several wore pieces courtesy of Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe.

Jonathan Anderson, who serves as the creative director for Loewe, worked with Guadagnino on the filmmaker’s movie “Challengers,” designing costumes for the film.

For her attire at the “Queer” red carpet premiere, Taylor Russell opted for a custom dress courtesy of Loewe. The actress, who previously worked with Guadagnino on 2022’s “Bones and All” and has served as a Loewe ambassador since November 2022, wore a black dress with lace detailing on the side of the skirt and a thigh-high slit. The bodice was fitted and featured a caped look with draped elements on her shoulders. Russell’s look was curated by stylist Jahleel Weaver.

Isabelle Huppert opted for this glittering ensemble courtesy of Armani Privé’s fall 2024 couture collection. Power couple Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig embraced their own individual style sensibilities on the red carpet for the film premiere. Weisz opted for a dramatic strapless gown by Atelier Versace. The midnight blue dress featured a sharp neckline with allover sequins and a flowing train.

Craig wore a custom suit by Loewe. The “Queer” star opted for a semi-monochrome look, with coordinated cream double-breasted blazer and trousers, a white button-down shirt and brown patent leather shoes.

Lesley Manville wore a custom Loewe look for her red carpet premiere attire as well. The “Queer” actress embraced draped fabric, wearing a flowing camel-colored dress.

Actress Tilda Swinton opted for runway inspiration for her attire at the “Queer” premiere. The actress wore a look from Alaïa’s fall 2024 ready-towear collection, which featured a crisp white, long-sleeve midi dress with a pop of color in aqua shoes.

Drew Starkey

“Queer” star Drew Starkey was also dressed by Loewe for the red carpet premiere of the film. The actor wore a custom navy tuxedo featuring a peak satin lapel, paired with slim-fit trousers and Campo derby shoes.

The Venice Film Festival is an annual festival held in Venice that previews new films from around the world. The festival aims to promote cinema in all its forms and foster dialogue among filmmakers and audiences, making it a key event in the global film calendar. The 2024 festival features a jury led by actress Isabelle Huppert and screenings of Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” Pedro Almodóvar’s “The Room Next Door” and Todd Phillips’ “Joker: Folie à Deux” among other films.
