Swift’s “Tonight Show” appearance look was curated by stylist and designer Joseph Cassell Falconer, who was instrumental in the singer’s music video for her “The Life of the Showgirl” single “The Fate of Ophelia,” which released on Sunday.

In the first music video for her 12th studio album, Swift embraced two new unique hairstyles — a severe brunette hair color and style and platinum blond curls à la Marilyn Monroe. Throughout the music video were sartorial nods to Swift’s “Showgirl” era — fringed dresses, plumage, crystal and mesh minidresses and more that harkened back to the idiosyncratic styles popularized by showgirls throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.
