Welcome to the 2025 PS Reading Challenge, a different kind of book club where we introduce 50 new prompts to inspire your next read. We hope you’re just as excited as we are. This year, we decided to change things up and tap you, our dedicated and loyal fan base, for book prompt ideas – and your creativity did not disappoint.

Some of those are reflected on our PS Reading Challenge list, like “a book about a POC experiencing joy and not trauma” and “a book mentioned in another book,” to name a few. (If one of your ideas was selected, take this as permission to flex about it in the PS Book Club on Facebook.) We couldn’t let you all have all the fun, though. The PS team also came up with topical, zeitgeisty prompts that will be especially relevant in 2025.

One, for example, is “a book about soccer” to help you get ready for the 2025 FIFA World Cup. Then, when you’re ready to move on to “a book set in a luxury hotel,” you can pregame by binge-watching the third season of “The White Lotus” on Max, set to premiere in 2025. You can also challenge yourself with an advanced prompt, like finding a book that features a married couple who don’t live together, a nod to the viral “living apart together” movement.

As you work your way through the list, you’ll notice a theme: this year, we’re exploring the topic of transformation. We hope the challenge inspires you to transform into whatever you want to be, whether that’s a better reader, a better writer, or perhaps a better small talker when the topic of books comes up.

This theme also extends to something new we’re offering this year: a PS Pocket Field Guide. For every prompt you complete, you can use this guide to write down the book you read, the date you started it, the date you completed it, and your rating. The best part? It can be folded and assembled into a little booklet so you can take it with you on the go (get a sneak peek below). Even our advanced prompt list is designed as a choose-your-own-adventure trail map, complete with “easy,” “medium,” and “hard” paths to follow. Whichever terrain you take is completely up to you. Remember, it’s all a part of the journey.

Speaking of the journey, if you want more space to share your thoughts throughout the challenge, we also designed journal pages for you. Take your time to reflect on each prompt, and jot down any additional notes or thoughts you have in the free space. Print as many pages as you’d like.

Your transformation awaits.
