The newest Air Jordan is taking a tour throughout the series’ history by borrowing elements from past models, including the Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 14, Air Jordan 16, Air Jordan 20 and Air Jordan 23. All but the first are still to come to market, and the pipeline is growing with another mashup from one of the most dramatic outliers of all the Air Jordans.
The Air Jordan 4028 looks to the extreme shroud of the Air Jordan 28. Headlined by Russell Westbrook in 2013, the sneaker featured a zippered ankle cover that could also be worn open with its flaps hanging over the upper. When unfurled, the inner side of the shroud reveals a logo combining the numbers 2 and 8.

The colorway is also cribbed from that used to reveal the Air Jordan 28, as a black upper gives way to a highlighter green inner layer and shroud branding, as well as a translucent blue outsole.
Back in November, Paolo Banchero wore the Air Jordan 4028 in another colorway that will likely remain exclusive to him. Imagery of the version that will be released comes via the YouTuber TanZhang, who got his hands on an early pair.
Release details for the Air Jordan 4028 are still to come, but it’ll likely drop at some point this year through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Footwear News will keep you abreast of any updates.
