The 2024 NAACP Image Awards will honor the accomplishments of Black creatives in film, television and music on Saturday. Queen Latifah will return to emcee the ceremony after hosting for the first time last year. Winners are announced prior to the show’s air date. This year’s honorees include Usher, H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion and Ciara, and June Ambrose has been named 2024 NAACP Image Awards Fashion Vanguard.
“This is the Oscar for me — to be celebrated and to be recognized,” Ambrose said on Thursday at a reception hosted by Gucci in Los Angeles. “I went into this industry because I wanted to change the narrative of how they saw us, and I was able to do that through this creative art form. I’m so grateful to still be doing it 30 years later, but I know that I stand on the shoulders of some really amazing people that really have the courage to do that.”
