With the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris well underway, TikTok is being flooded with videos from athletes talking about everything from infamous cardboard beds to the free swag competitors get. Another topic that’s getting a lot of attention this year is the Olympic Village and the many stores and attractions it contains. Unbeknownst to viewers tuning in from home, it has everything the athletes could possibly need during their stay, including a post office, multiple gyms, souvenir shops, and a full-service hair and nail salon.
Daria Saville, a member of the Australian tennis team, shared a quick glimpse at the beauty salon in a TikTok video explaining that athletes can get free hair services and, though nails come at a charge, the prices are very heavily discounted for competitors. In the video, Saville gets a hairstyle in the salon and briefly shows the section where people can get manicures. Team USA track and field runner Chari Hawkins, on the other hand, made a video showing off her fresh manicure at the same salon.
