The iHeartRadio Music Awards red carpet has the same effect as opening your old freshman year yearbook: you’d rather forget that stage. For many of today’s biggest acts and red carpet stars, the iHeartRadio Music Awards red carpet was one of their first major carpets — and lessons were learned.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift walked the carpet in 2015, with a helmet-like bob with Goldilocks curls. The cutout dress and geometric shoe only complicated things further.
Zendaya
Zendaya, easily one of the best dressed celebrities of our time, was also guilty of an early days red carpet flop, as seen with this attempt at rock ‘n’ roll style. The red crushed velvet suit paired with a black leather bralette and bootie misses the mark. The heavy glam feels very 2016 — in a bad way. The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” come to mind here.
Doja Cat
Doja Cat, who has plenty of red carpet wins under her belt, stumbled with this mob wife on the way to the gym look. The combat boots, leather pant and muscle T-shirt feel like the result of a lost luggage mishap.
Pink
Pink’s white wedding attempt couldn’t have gone any worse. Where to start? The layered pleated floor-sweeping skirt is confusing, and not really that flattering, but to make matters worse, the slice-sleeve blazer creates a hilarious visual effect. Where are those hands coming from?!
Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum also finds herself on this list for her “Dancing With the Stars”-inspired blue asymmetric gown. The extreme cutouts and slit feel accidental — never what you want. The asymmetric extreme shoulder has an orthopedic angle. The pulled-back wet hair is adding to the disaster.
