Dolce & Gabbana has returned to Capri, Italy, to film its Light Blue’s 25th anniversary campaign. This time, the brand enlisted British actor Theo James and Italian model Vittoria Ceretti to star in the commercial ad directed by Gordon Von Steiner with art direction by Kevin Tekinel and Charles Levai.

James and Ceretti are seen in tiny white swimsuits and kissing on a raft, against a paradisiacal background. The commercial was shot in July last year, with paparazzi photos of the set taking over social media at the time.

The campaign is inspired by Dolce & Gabbana’s 2007 Light Blue Pour Homme shot by Mario Testino and featuring David Gandy, who was also in a tiny white swimsuit and embracing Capri’s romantic energy. Gandy starred in multiple versions of the ad throughout the years, sharing the screen with different models each time, including Marija Vujović, Anna Jagodzinska and Bianca Balti.

According to consumer insight company OnePoll, the original television commercial with Gandy was considered one of the sexiest of all time in a study published in 2008.

James is a brand ambassador for Range Rover, specifically for the Range Rover Sport, and has starred in a campaign for Hugo Boss fragrances in 2015. Ceretti has an extensive list of partnerships with luxury brands, previously starring in campaigns for Gucci, Chanel, Max Mara and others.

The new campaign celebrates 25 years of the Light Blue fragrance, highlighting the Light Blue Eau de Toilette and Light Blue Pour Homme Eau de Toilette. Master perfumers Olivier Cresp and Alberto Morillas enhanced the formulas to provide a more intense and alluring scent experience that can now last for up to 16 hours.
