From hair-oiling practices to turmeric and ashwagandha in skin-care products, Ayurvedic-inspired formulations have taken over the beauty space. Another example: Mango People’s Mango Cream Blush & Lip Multisticks ($27), which have been all over my For You Page on TikTok. The brand’s founder, Sravya Adusumilli, incorporates Ayurvedic ingredients and adaptogens and created the line with shades meant to flatter a wide range of skin tones without compromising on efficacy.

Instantly after seeing all the hype, I wanted to find out what made this multistick different from the rest. In my experience, I’ve found that most multipurpose makeup products tend to look washed out on my skin tone or won’t appear at all, so I was hesitant but hopeful. Keep reading for my full review of the product, including how each multistick looks on my skin and why it’s worth it.

What I Like About the Mango People Mango Cream Blush and Lip Multistick

Multistick makeup products are supposed to help streamline your routine but sometimes come at the cost of the product’s texture. However, that is not the case for Mango People’s Multistick. It has the most elegant, creamy texture that feels hydrating on the skin. Although it has a thick, balmy feel at first, the formula is easy to blend, making it simple to work with on the eyelids, lips, and cheeks.

The Mango People Multisticks are pigmented and buildable – with one to two swipes, you get opaque coverage, so you can go as bold as your heart desires. Although it looks matte in the tube, it has a subtle sheen finish that gives you a glowy, healthy look on the skin. And as a lip product, it feels like a conditioning balm that locks in hydration.

My favorite shades of the multistick (Fudge, Tabla, and Cherry) live in my purse because of their versatility. It’s so convenient to swipe the product on my lids, lips, and cheeks for a flush of color that makes me look put together on the go. I can easily sheer it out with my fingers, even on the subway.

How to Use the Mango People Mango Cream Blush and Lip Multistick

Due to its multi-purpose nature, there are plenty of ways to use this in your makeup routine, whether it’s a wash of color on your eyelid for instant eyeshadow, adding depth and dimension to your cheeks, or a vivid lip. Just make sure you do not twist the tube too much and risk breaking the bullet off.

For a bolder look, I apply it directly from the tube and use my fingers or a brush to blend and diffuse it out, as shown above. For a softer, more natural look, I use a brush or my fingers to apply the cream product that way. This method works better for darker shades on my skin tone rather than the lighter shades.

Because of its ability to blend seamlessly, it is a very forgiving product, so if you mess up, you can easily fix it. Although it’s a long-lasting formulation, it’s best to set it in place with a translucent powder or a setting spray.

What to Consider Before Trying the Mango People Mango Cream Blush and Lip Multistick

Some of the shades aren’t as flattering on my tan, neutral undertone skin, especially as a multiuse product. Some shades work better as complexion products, like Apricot and Gulabi, but tend to look washed out on my lips, while others, like Cherry, are beautiful as a lip color, but might be a bit much as a complexion product. It’s best to buy the shade(s) that you can get the most use out of. For me, shades Fudge and Tabla compliment my skin tone as a lip, cheek, and eye product, and those are the ones I gravitate toward the most.
