I love a dewy, glossy look. Even though I am someone who has combination-oily skin, there’s just something about a glowy product that makes me feel alive. The latest product to fall into this category is the new Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Hue Drops ($35), and although it just launched, fans of the brand are clamoring to learn more.

Since news of the tinted iteration of the viral Glow Drops came out, the product has taken beauty fanatics by storm. A review posted by influencer Aysha Harun has 2.4 million views and counting, resulting in comments from followers vowing to buy the product as soon as it becomes available.

I’m already a fan of the original Glow Drops and I simply had to try this new version out for myself. Read ahead for my full review.

About the Glow Recipe Niacinamide Hue Drops

  • The drops come in one shade called Sun Glow.
  • The formula has ingredients like niacinamide and hyaluronic acid to address the appearance of dark spots and increase hydration levels in the skin.
  • The bottle is made of glass and comes with a pump applicator.
  • The drops have a bronzed pearl finish to add warmth to the complexion.

What I Like About the Glow Recipe Niacinamide Hue Drops

I didn’t expect to love the tinted Hue Drops as much as I do. Many brands claim that its products add a bronzed glow to every skin tone when in reality, they only work on light complexions. On dark skin, they simply have a finish similar to a highlighter, essentially adding radiance without the promised warmth and dimension. When I first applied the Hue Drops, I was pleasantly surprised to see that not only did my skin look warmer, but the subtle tint had a blurring effect, minimizing a few of my smaller blemishes. After using it, I finally understood why some people say that products like these make them feel like they can go out without makeup. These drops simultaneously act as a glow booster and skin diffuser, making your face look like it’s been face-tuned in real life.

Aside from the tint, the Hue Drops have the same watermelon scent as the original and identical skin-care benefits thanks to stand-out ingredients like niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.

How to Use the Glow Recipe Niacinamide Hue Drops

These drops have the same application method as the original formula; you can pump two or three drops into your hand and blend into your skin. It’s a serum, so technically it’s supposed to be used before your moisturizer, but because it’s a skin-care makeup hybrid, I like to use it after sunscreen and before makeup. That way, I get to enjoy the glowy finish that the formula offers.

What to Consider About the Glow Recipe Niacinamide Hue Drops

While the Hue Drops work on my complexion, someone with darker skin may not be able to notice the same bronzy finish that I love so much. To me, that means there is an opportunity for a shade extension in the future to accommodate extra deep skin tones.

Where to Buy the Glow Recipe Niacinamide Hue Drops
