When 2024 started, I made a vow to myself to get my shit together. I made big plans, like getting my love life on track (which some might consider an impossible feat). Still, I committed to doing smaller things, like finally cleaning out my old makeup products and organizing my cabinet that has long been neglected.
Typically, when I decide to start decluttering my makeup, the first thing I want to do is buy a bunch of stuff to make it “easier.” There’s nothing I love more than a trip to The Container Store and a big purchase of organizational “tools.” However, this time around, I told myself that I was going to stick with what I already had and not buy anything new – until I saw the Étoile Collective Duo Vanity Case ($100). The organizer has gone viral on TikTok, and although I didn’t fully understand the hype at first, now that I own one, I completely get it.
Yeah, I caved and got one, but trust me when I say it went viral for a reason. Ahead, read my full review of the Étoile Collective Duo Vanity Case and find out why it’s become one of my favorite organizing products ever.

What I Like About the Étoile Collective Duo Vanity Case
My favorite thing about this vanity case is that it fits everything I need and more. Even with all of my makeup inside, I still have room left over. I typically have to bring numerous bags when I travel in order to store my products, brushes, and beauty sponges, but this allows me to keep everything in one place, which makes all of my products easy to keep track of. Instead of having to frantically rifle through multiple bags when I’m traveling, I know where everything is located. (It also makes it a lot easier if I need to ask someone to grab something for me.)
I also love that the exterior is stiff and sturdy, which means I don’t have to worry when I pack it in my suitcase. I recently took it with me on a short trip up to the Bay Area, and it kept my products safe in my checked bag, even when it was getting banged around a bunch. And if you’re someone who packs light, it fits nicely in a carry-on, as well.
The main compartment is tall enough that I can store my products upright, keeping them nice and snug so I don’t have to worry about spillage.
How to Use the Étoile Collective Duo Vanity Case
You can use this case to store makeup, skin care, or both (or TBH, whatever your little heart desires). However, the brand does note that the lining is not resistant to skin-care products like oils. I personally like to use the top compartment to store my eyeshadow palettes and mascaras and the bottom compartment to house my larger makeup items like my foundations and liquid blushes. I store my makeup brushes in the area above the larger compartment, but you could also store lip pencils or eyebrow pencils in that area.
What to Consider Before Trying the Étoile Collective Duo Vanity Case
At $100, this certainly isn’t cheap for a product organizer. However, because the quality is so good and the product is so sturdy, I can see it lasting me for years to come. Usually, I have to purchase a couple of makeup cases every year because they fall apart and get dirty, but because this one has a makeup-resistant lining, it’s much easier to keep clean.
I’ve also read online that a few people have tested “dupes,” or less expensive versions of the product, but they found that the quality wasn’t great, which makes me feel good about the product I own.
