Trinity Rodman took Pharrell Williams’ Vegas-exclusive Virginia Adistar Jellyfish sneakers from the Strip to Adidas’ World Cup shoot in Madrid this week.
The Washington Spirit and gold medal-winning U.S. Women’s National Team forward wore the Blue edition of the collaboration, a Las Vegas–exclusive take on the Virginia Adistar Jellyfish. The sneaker featured a white mesh upper with silver and royal blue synthetic overlays, plus layered paneling that followed the lines of Adidas’ Adistar Cushion 3 running shoe from 2005. Black TPU three-stripe cages sat on both sides, while white rope laces, “Virginia” tongue branding and a black rubber outsole with patterned tread completed the Y2K runner profile.
A thick, exaggerated midsole distinguished the Jellyfish from its archival source. The foam unit kept the Adistar Cushion 3’s general shape but expanded it in height and width, with curved grooves along the sides that Adidas has linked to the fluid form of a jellyfish. The Blue colorway followed earlier orange, green and gray Jellyfish releases that sold out through Pharrell’s Virginia platform and the Adidas Confirmed app, with the Vegas drop pricing the shoe at $300 at the end of October before resale pushed pairs for popular sizes into four-digit territory on secondary marketplaces.

Adidas and Pharrell brought the Virginia Adistar Jellyfish to retail in August after more than a year of buildup, including early pairs seen at Paris Fashion Week. The shoe went on to earn Shoe of the Year at the 2025 FN Achievement Awards. “I dreamed of a shoe that felt alive, something that moved like water,” Williams told FN, explaining the focus on movement and proportion. Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden called the Jellyfish “a great recognition for the brand and for the people behind the product,” pointing to the reaction from consumers.
For the Madrid shoot, Rodman wore a full Adidas denim look. Her cropped zip-front jacket closed high at the collar, with ribbed cuffs, white three-stripe tape along the sleeves and a Trefoil logo at the left chest. Matching wide-leg jeans followed in the same blue wash and three-stripe motif running down the leg, cut long and worn low enough for red Adidas boxer to peek over the waistline.
The Madrid shoot marked another high-visibility on-foot moment for the Jellyfish as Adidas continues to deploy Pharrell’s Virginia line through limited, location-specific releases. Pharrell wore a pair to the 2025 FN Achievement Awards, where footwear took center stage.
