ITALIAN ACCENT: Continuing to build out its global team, Versace has tapped Kenzo’s Mathieu Baboulène as its new Milan-based global communication director, effective Tuesday.
He reports to Caroline Deroche Pasquier, who recently joined Versace as vice president, global communications, after a stint at Bottega Veneta.
Over the past year or so Versace has added a number of seasoned executives with expertise across communications, marketing, visual merchandising, digital, omnichannel, IT and innovation as it pursues a brand elevation strategy.
Most recently, Baboulène logged four years as Kenzo’s global senior PR and communication director, crafting new strategies under Nigo, who was named creative director at the Paris-based house in 2021. Baboulène had also worked under Nigo’s predecessor, Felipe Oliveria Baptista.
