When I was younger and the year 2025 seemed very far off, I imagined it would be very futuristic. Flying cars, maybe some light teleportation – you know, the things “Back to the Future” made you think were possible. While we do have self-driving cars and tiny little devices that let us communicate with people all over the world, things aren’t as advanced as I thought they’d be with one caveat – T3’s latest innovation, the T3 Aire IQ Dryer ($400).
T3 makes some of my favorite hair tools – I can’t nail the perfect beach wave without its curling iron – so when I had the opportunity to test what the brand touted as an “intelligent” hair dryer, I jumped at the chance. What I Like About the T3 Aire IQ Hair Dryer
I’ve been using this dryer for almost a month. It’s traveled with me, and it’s easily become one of my favorite and most-used hair tools. Here are a few things I love about it:
It’s lightweight: There’s nothing worse than doing your hair while simultaneously feeling like you’re doing the hardest arm workout imaginable. I’m all about getting my hair dried and styled as fast as possible, which means I don’t want to take frequent pause breaks to give my arms some relief. Luckily, this dryer is lightweight and easy to hold for an extended period of time.
It has an easy-to-read display: The display is one of the most futuristic features I’ve seen on a hair dryer. I love how easy it is to toggle between settings, which makes it easy to select your hair type. The dryer then gives you a temperature and airflow specific to your hair needs.
It comes with a chic dryer stand: The dryer stand was a nice surprise when I opened the box. I’m always shoving hair tools into drawers in my bathroom, so it was great to be able to display it in a chic and manageable way on top of my bathroom counter.
It has an auto-pause sensor: The auto-pause sensor is my favorite feature – the device actually stops when you set it down. Marty McFly would be proud.
How to Use the T3 Aire IQ Hair Dryer
This hair dryer is extremely user-friendly. I start by powering it on and then choosing my hair texture. The T3 user guide included with the product has instructions on how to figure out your type. From there, the display allows you to choose an attachment and connect it. It will automatically start with a heat and speed setting based on your hair type, but there is also the option to select each one manually.
If you want to pause using the dryer, all you have to do is set it down.
What to Consider Before Trying the T3 Aire IQ Hair Dryer
One thing to consider before buying this product is that it’s definitely a splurge. At $400, it’s on the pricier side for a hair dryer. While it’s not a must-have, this hair dryer might be a good investment if you’re looking to upgrade your existing dryer to one with smart technology that can adapt to your specific hair type.
