Lara Eurdolian has worked in beauty, lifestyle, and fashion media for over 10 years, but is now equally known for being a dog mom to her Pomeranian Charlie, who she met at Coachella while participating in her hotel’s pet adoption program. When she discovered how difficult it is for senior dogs to find homes, she was all in on 10-year-old Charlie, who she brought home to nurture back to health. Inspired by their love story, she wrote “Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel,” a celebrated children’s book with a forward by Charlie’s godmother and iconic American costume designer Patricia Field.
For Charlie’s 18th birthday this April, Eurdolian and Field came together to host the Senior Dog Rescue Runway Show at Flying Solo in Soho, NYC. At the event, Field dropped a new collection for Kiss the Dogs NYC – a line she has exclusively carried in her store and ArtFashion gallery since 2013. “Patricia and I have been close for a decade and she has a very special relationship with Charlie,” Eurdolian tells PS. “She was like, ‘If you plan it, I’ll do the fashion,'” subsequently crafting an incredible “Charlie Bradshaw” tutu dress for Charlie to open the runway in. (Of course, if you’re familiar with the original “Sex and the City” series, you know Field was behind the iconic opening credits with Carrie in a pink bodysuit and tiered white tutu.)

“Patricia Field sitting front row while Charlie strutted in his ‘Charlie Bradshaw’ tutu shirt was a proud moment. This is a dog that no one wanted at 10 years old, and now at 18 is in a room of over 150 tastemakers and media (including Nicky Hilton), trying to help more dogs get rescued. It’s a moment I’ll never forget,” Eurdolian says, also fondly recalling the custom Kiss the Dogs NYC for Patricia Field ArtFashion black and white ruffled top Charlie wore to walk her down the aisle. “James Suozzi, the designer behind the one-of-a-kind Kiss the Dogs NYC collection, even had it embroidered for Charlie. There’s a photo of my husband and I on our wedding day holding Charlie in the NY Times and I have it framed. It means so much to me that he was my best man.”
Needless to say, Eurdolian’s experience planning events with adoption agencies, charity organizations, and fashion industry insiders has sharpened her knowledge about pet needs and must haves, from stylish accessories to essential everyday products. Ahead, she breaks down her picks for top-notch dog parenting.
