The saying ‘what’s old is new again’ had to be about beauty trends, right? This year, we’ve already seen a handful of former hairstyle trends make a comeback, including deep side parts (sorry, middle part), thick fabric headbands (who knew we’d see these again?), and Tumblr-era braided ponytails that make us wish the platform was still a thing. However, the hair trend that’s made the biggest resurgence is undoubtedly ’90s-style blowouts, causing blowout tools to fill the aisles of Sephora and Ulta. Blow-dryer brushes and thermal brushes are everywhere, and the latest new is causing quite a commotion on TikTok. The BondiBoost Infrared Bounce Brush ($98) taps into infrared technology, which gently heats the hair from within, giving you that ’90s-supermodel-volume without major heat damage. (Yes, it’s possible.)
It utilizes negative ions to lock in moisture, which means dry, brittle strands are a thing of the past. Not to mention, it has aloe-infused bristles that add extra shine and reduce frizz. The result? A glossy, bouncy finish and ’90s curls that look as good as new. To see if this product lives up to the hype, I decided to put it to the test. Ahead, learn more about BondiBoost’s Infrared Bounce Brush.

What I Like About BondiBoost Infrared Bounce Brush
It’s a fact: I’m a sucker for any tool that promises to give me a good blowout. As someone with fine, straight hair, my dream is to achieve full, bouncy curls that would land me on the front cover of a magazine. However, that dream has yet to be realized. I’ve tried quite a few hot brushes, and this is hands down my favorite.
For starters, I love that it doesn’t cause as much heat damage. The tool itself doesn’t get very hot (even though it can reach up to 450°F), which proves to me that it won’t fry off my hair. On top of that, the bristles don’t get tangled in my hair (unlike other tools), which is a huge win – especially when I’m trying to make curls. As for the best part? It really does create a gorgeous blowout without the hassle. It’s super easy to use and works on my fine hair. Meaning, my hair can actually hold the style. Plus, it leaves behind an added shine that ties the whole look together. Yes, please.
How to Use the BondiBoost Infrared Bounce Brush
The best way to use this tool is by starting with dry hair. (It’s important to note that it’s not a blow-dryer brush, so it can’t be used on wet hair.) After applying a light mist of heat protectant, plug in the brush and let it heat up. From there, I found it’s best to divide your hair into two sections: top and bottom. Once your hair is parted, start with the bottom half. Depending on how you want to style your hair will influence the way you use the brush. If you want curls, twist it like this. If you want to flip your ends, roll it like this. For extra hold, keep your hair in velcro rollers until you’re done.
What to Consider Before Trying the BondiBoost Infrared Bounce Brush
To be honest, there really aren’t a lot of downsides to this hair tool. It’s easy to use, doesn’t cause as much heat damage, and creates effortless styles. However, it’s worth noting that people with fine hair might have to prep with a layer of hairspray before and after using the brush. While the tool does give you a long-lasting hold, I noticed that I needed to add hairspray to keep my ends flipped. Rollers can also be used, but that takes a bit more work. Overall, this brush is a great addition to my hair tool collection.
Is the BondiBoost Infrared Bounce Brush Worth the Splurge?
This BondiBoost Brush is totally worth the splurge. It’s a great tool for creating gorgeous hairstyles, as well as simple touch-ups. It’s super user-friendly and doesn’t take more than 10 minutes to create a hairstyle. It also seems to be durable and of good quality, meaning it’ll last for years. Plus, it has a five-year warranty in case it doesn’t.
Where Is the BondiBoost Infrared Bounce Brush Available?
