Millie Bobby Brown made the latest stop on her “The Electric State” promotional tour on Tuesday in New York City. The Florence by Mills founder made her 10th appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” where she talked about her new Netflix film and addressed her response to tabloid coverage of her appearance.
Brown opted for a multicolor shimmering pixel look with a halter neckline by Paco Rabanne. The midi skirt featured an ombre design in shades of pink, orange, yellow, purple and a touch of red throughout.
The skirt of the look also included a slight slit near the hemline for added definition. Brown kept her ensemble as the centerpiece of her attire, opting to wear metallic, open-toe, backless sandal heels. When it came to her accessories, Brown went minimal, opting for a pair of delicate earrings by Melissa Kaye and her engagement ring and wedding band from husband Jake Bongiovi, whom Brown married in May 2024. The couple also celebrated with a ceremony in Italy in October 2024.
As for her glam, Brown wore her newly blond tresses in a flowing style with a side part. Her makeup featured a glowy look with bold brows and a glossy lip. Brown’s recently worked with stylist Ryan Young on her “The Electric State” promotional tour looks.
While speaking with the eponymous “Tonight Show” host, Brown addressed a public message she disclosed, responding to tabloid coverage of her appearance.
“I kind of kept making excuses like, ‘It’s just not the right time,’ or, ‘I shouldn’t do it. People are going to respond badly.’ And then I kind of realized, ‘I’m just making excuses because I’m afraid. And when is there a right time for a woman to stand up for herself,’” the 21-year-old said of her ultimate decision to film a video message addressing how tabloid coverage of her appearance is not only harmful for her, but also for girls across the globe.
Brown recently spoke at the United Nations on behalf of UNICEF, where she urged world leaders “to protect women.” The actress explained her video message was just “a small inkling of the work that I do with UNICEF and to protect not only girls in the industry, but girls all around the world.”
Brown stars in the new Netflix film “The Electric State” alongside Chris Pratt. The film, an adaptation of the book of the same name by Simon Stålenhag, follows an orphaned teen who teams up with a mysterious robot and eccentric smuggler to find her long-lost brother. The film is now streaming on Netflix.
