Summer’s bandana trend has already expanded well beyond classic paisley. Halsey captured that range at the Guizio Los Angeles store opening on Thursday, wearing a white patterned scarf over her hair and a red paisley version at her hip.
Halsey left the cropped blue-and-white gingham shirt mostly open over a white crop top. She wore the faded jeans low on her hips and let the oversized legs fall over her sneakers, with large tears at both knees and smaller worn-in patches throughout. The “Bad at Love” singer added a slim white D&G belt and wore the oversized jeans so long that only the brown, white and gray uppers and dark soles of her sneakers remained visible.

She did not try to make the two scarves match. Black rectangular sunglasses rested over the white printed headscarf, while the red paisley bandana supplied the only bright color against the faded denim. Halsey finished the look with a compact black shoulder bag.
The bandana’s second summer back has been less about one recognizable formula than the number of ways people are wearing it. Rihanna, Hailey Bieber, Elle Fanning, Zendaya and Dua Lipa have all tied scarves over their hair, while labels have offered silk, gingham, crochet, linen and louder printed versions. Chaco and Nike pushed paisley into footwear this summer, using it across sandals, Air Max releases and Air Force 1s.
Guizio hosted the party ahead of Friday’s public opening of its first West Coast flagship, a 3,200-square-foot Melrose Avenue space and the New York label’s largest store to date. The opening follows Guizio’s SoHo flagship and Aventura Mall location in Florida.
Bandanas aren’t the only throwback trend to emerge this summer. Bermuda shorts and capris, including athletic iterations, have seen a resurgence this summer.
