Saint Laurent‘s shining gold shoes slithered down the spring 2027 runway on Tuesday to become the talk of Paris Fashion Week, with sculptural snake heels among the collection’s standout footwear.
Anthony Vaccarello and Corrado de Biase, the brand’s freelance design director of men’s and women’s shoes, extended the collection’s gold-focused theme down to the ornate shoes.
Perhaps the most striking styles in the lineup stood on curvaceous, sculptural heels resembling slithering snakes.

Another standout design element came through gilded metallic chains on several sandals, which created a sense of delicate and dynamic glamour. For some styles, the chains reached across the toes and met a large opulent jewel at the center of the vamp.
Continuing with the snake theme, some sandals featured snakeskin in colors like neutral beige or blue; meanwhile, other chain-covered sandals had subtle gold reptillian embossing across the toe.
The gold theme also carried into a lineup of slingback pumps featuring prominent gold cap-toes. The shoes retained Saint Laurent hallmarks like elongated sharp toes and square-cut vamps. These pumps were finished in satin shades ranging from jewel tones to more neutral hues.
As a fashion house, Saint Laurent has a long history with gold. “I love gold, it’s a magical color,” Yves Saint Laurent once said. “When reflecting a woman, it’s the color of the sun.”
According to an official release from the fashion house, gold allowed Vaccarello to explore the power of repetition, as he has previously done through silhouette. His use of gold is guided by purpose and emotion, with a palpable aura felt across variations, whether it’s deep gold, Byzantine gold, pale gold, Renaissance gold, matte gold, Art Deco gold, burnished gold or modernist, almost Brutalist gold.
