Demi Moore and Tallulah Willis piled on the patterns with mother-daughter coords in Thom Browne for Step Up’s annual Inspiration Awards on Friday at Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
Moore opted for the scenic silk twill Nantucket print, featured on “The Substance” Oscar-nominated star‘s shirt, skirt and blazer. The shirt, paired with a tie, and the single-breasted blazer were rendered in shades of green and blue, with picturesque country and waterside scenes evocative of a quintessential Nantucket summer.
The skirt contineud the scenic pattern in pleats and with beachy elements to boot. Moore also wore Thom Browne socks with the American designer’s signature stripe motif and added a pair of pointed toe blue and white pumps.

As for Willis, Moore’s 32-year-old daughter also went for Thom Browne coords with her plaid ensemble in shades of red, gray and blue. Willis’ look included a long-sleeve jacket with a waistcoat and pleated skirt, paired with a white shirt and striped tie that also featured red and blue stripes.
Forgoing the striped socks, Willis decided to pair her look with a set of pointed-toe white pumps. As for accessories, she carried a black purse shaped like a small dog, fluffy tail included.
Both Willis’ and Moore’s Thom Browne coords weren’t by any means matching, but they certainly evoked the American designer’s penchant for preppy style. Skirt suiting complemented the mother-daughter pair, acting as silhouette and style coords rather than traditional pattern pairing.
Even with the unified effort, both Moore’s and Willis’ looks retained their individuality. Through prints and patterns, the two were able to maintain a sense of autonomy while the silhouettes of their respective Thom Browne style choices complemented one another.
Step Up is an organization that celebrates and supports teenage girls and young women in their respective endeavors and pursuit of their personal and career goals through mentorship. Moore was honored at Friday’s Inspiration Awards.
