Historic fashion pieces — including the “Black Is King” catsuit worn by Beyoncé — are now up for grabs.
Disney fans are now able to bid on fashion items (and much more) through the company’s Create 100 auction in Los Angeles, launched Thursday, in support of the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Items were donated by prominent figures around the world from the fashion, beauty, music, art and entertainment worlds. The pieces in the auction are inspired by each creator’s personal connection to stories and characters across the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and 20th Century universes. The auction will run across 18 countries through Monday.
Auction items include: the Cactus Buddy Goofy Fan Club Sculpted Artwork by Cactus Plant Flea Market, the pink PP Hulk by Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, an archival Mickey Mouse sweatshirt from Marc Jacobs, a wearable crystal “The Boy and Bird” sculpture by Schiaparelli’s Daniel Roseberry, the Sea Queen shoe by Christian Louboutin, a portrait of Kate Moss inspired by Disney’s Tinkerbell by David Downtown donated by Charlotte Tilbury, a life-size hariko papier-mâché Yoda by Nigo, a one-of-a-kind Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Sculpture from Disney’s “Fantasia” by Virgil Abloh Securities, which was commissioned by Disney and designed by Alaska Alaska, and a Disney x TH varsity jacket by Tommy Hilfiger.
Additionally, Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios), Jennifer Lee (Walt Disney Animation Studios), Jon Landau (Lightstorm Entertainment) and Pete Docter (Pixar Animation Studios) have also donated items celebrating their respective studios, movies and stories.
As part of the project, Disney is donating $1 million to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Disney has been a Make-A-Wish partner for more than 40 years, and together the organization and media company have helped grant wishes for 150,000 children with critical illnesses worldwide.
To commemorate it’s 100th anniversary, Disney has inked a variety of projects, including fashion collaborations with H&M and Swarovski Crystal, which recreated Cinderella’s glass slipper.
