LONDON AFFAIR: On Monday evening, Gucci’s creative director Sabato De Sarno rolled out the Rosso Ancora red carpet at the Tate Modern for the likes of Dua Lipa, Paul Mescal, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Demi Moore, Kate Moss, Francois and Salma Hayek Pinault, Solange Knowles and more.
Last year the Italian luxury brand tapped Paul Mescal for its campaign to mark the 70th anniversary of its Horsebit 1953 loafer design. On Monday night, the Irish actor wore a black open shirt with matching trousers. He will star in Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator II,” due for the big screen in November.
His fellow “Normal People” costar Edgar-Jones wore a belted caramel jacket with shorts.
Dua Lipa, who just released her third studio album “Radical Optimism,” sat front row with her sister, Rina. The pop star wore a black quilted jacket with platform heels.
International stars such as brand ambassadors Alia Bhatt, Gyuyoung Park and Davika Hoorne, as well as Stray Kids’ Lee Know, Nicholas Tse, Wang Churan, and Zhang Linghe, meanwhile, have been helping promote the brand’s personalized luggage range with airport snaps, seen across Gucci’s social media.
Bhatt, who started working with Gucci a year ago beginning with the show in Seoul, said she looked forward to De Sarno’s cruise collection debut.
“Everything that he’s done so far has been so refreshing. And so familiar in in the same breath. I think he really understands character and personality and style and fashion. And I’m just looking forward to seeing a mix and blend of all of that,” said the Indian star, who has more than 80 million Instagram followers.
Park, who was named a global brand ambassador last October, donned a red velvet dress with lace details. She is best known for starring in a handful of South Korean hit TV shows, including the recent Netflix series “Celebrity.”
Hoorne, who is currently competing in China’s hit reality TV show “Sisters Who Make Waves Season,” wore a shape gray ensemble with a pair of above-knee red boots. The Thai star was seen having intimate exchanges with her seat mates Bhatt and Park.
Tse, a household name in the Chinese entertainment business since the ’90s, accessorized his casual gray sweater with a silver necklace and a pair of smoky shades.
“I like how he picked the perfect piece for every model,” Tes said, adding that the finale was his favorite part of the show as they looked like “eye candies.”
Wang wore an embellished bomber and a pair of red heels for the show. She is set to star in the second season of “Joy of Life,” a highly anticipated fantasy period drama airing on Thursday.
Zhang, known for his performance in hit TV series like “Love Between Fairy and Devil” and “Story of Kunning Palace,” is currently one of the most talked-about emerging actors on Xiaohongshu with his name mentioned close to 2.5 billion times.
For his first trip to London, the star picked a look that included a chunky necklace, a white tank top, and a statement gray coat.
“The venue felt modern when I first entered, but as I walked into the space, I began to love the combination between modernity and nature,” said Zhang, adding that he also enjoyed the music of the show and the chiffon dresses toward the end of the collection.
Sabrina Elba, founder of beauty brand S’able Labs with her husband Idris Elba, arrived in a fitted sparkly button-down dress.
Daphne Guinness, who only steps out for very few special occasions, wore a short black dress with sky-high heels.
