Actress Olivia Colman made her runway debut at Miu Miu‘s spring 2027 show in Paris today. Temporarily setting aside her usual day job, Colman modeled alongside a few other familiar faces in the runway show, held in a gymnasium setting.

The “Broadchurch” star’s runway ensemble was suiting-inspired, crafted from a high-shine leather that gave the ensemble a spilled-oil look. A tailored blazer left open was layered over an oversized deep blue V-neck sweater, which was French-tucked into a coordinating black leather pencil-esque skirt. Said skirt was further accessorized with a black belt featuring silver grommet detailing and chain accents. Colman was also styled in brown leather boat shoes, a staple and fan-favorite silhouette of Miu Miu’s footwear line.

Off the runway later in the day, the actress attended the brand’s spring 2027 show afterparty, which was well attended by a slew of familiar faces from K-Pop idols to fellow actors. Colman was dressed in another suiting moment that incorporated casual elements like oversized jeans. The look consisted of a deep blue oversized blazer with checkered blue and white lining layered over a collared gray sweater.

Accessorizing her Miu Miu ensemble, the thespian toted a brown leather Miu Miu-branded bag in a slouchy style, accompanied by burgundy pointed-toe patent leather slingback heels, another popular silhouette from the Italian brand. The shoe features buckle closures in gold, pointed toes and short stiletto heels. Prospective buyers can purchase the shoe on the brand’s website, currently retailing for $1,450.

One may notice that both Colman’s ensembles on and off the runway were inspired by office-esque or preppy school attire. Miu Miu’s design style under Miuccia Prada centers around classic silhouettes made structural and formal, pairing prim styles with something more masculine, like boxers with blouses. This style has been a constant for Miuccia since her Prada “Ugly Chic” 1996 collection, which subverted conventional high-fashion dressing by integrating shocking colors and rigid anti-sexy silhouettes.

Beyond Colman, Emma Corrin, Noah Jupe, Chandler Kinney, Donkey Kid, and Louisa Jacobson, Meryl Streep’s daughter, all walked the show. The delightful casting choices were made by the brand’s Creative Director, Miuccia Prada, who has always seemed to pride herself on taking a direction least expected. “We try to do all — young, new faces and some older women, some men, some different characters,” the designer stated in an interview with WWD. The move showcases a diverse cast of characters, showing that anyone, both old and young, model or otherwise, can wear Miu Miu.
