Pinterest has unveiled its latest fall trend report — this time focusing on hobbies.
The report drew from the social media platform’s internal global data, looking at searches from May 2025 versus May 2026. The overarching theme for this report stems from its collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures ahead of the new “Practical Magic 2” movie opening in September.
Moreover, Pinterest found that people are focusing not just on unplugging, but on finding hobbies to occupy their time — 51 percent of Gen Z users noted that having a hobby contributes to their joy. Ironically, Pinterest users are using the online platform to take inspiration, try new things and to stay offline.
The nine trends highlighted in the report are Kitchen Witch, Cosmic Reset, Home Cafe Engineering, Backyard Botanist, Weekend Equestrian, Secondhand Sidequest, Handmade Hacker, Curated Clutter and Casual Crafter.

Notable searches on the platform for Cosmic Reset are found in the wellness space — the report authors found that users are turning to the cosmos for a reset and looking to moon water rituals (186 percent) and energy-cleansing rituals (101 percent).
Users are also searching for “crystals and meaning,” which rose 606 percent. “Zodiac nails” and “gemini perfume” are also being searched by more than 38 percent and 12 percent, respectively, versus last year.
For Weekend Equestrian, stable styles have become relevant with fashion’s focus on structured, polished layers that have a heritage edge. Specifically, barn jackets and military outerwear are being paired with breech-inspired bottoms and riding boots.
“Barn jacket outfit women” searches rose an astonishing 1,109 percent and “military jacket women outfit” also rose by 554 percent. Other notable searches on Pinterest for the equestrian-driven trend include “equestrian aesthetic outfit” (up 219 percent), “horse riding aesthetic outfit” (up 170 percent), and “rubber riding boots” (up 100 percent).
Based on the exponential rise of secondhand platforms Depop, ThreadUp, The RealReal, Fashionphile, Vinted and more — it should come as no surprise that Pinterest searches for resale are also up.
For Secondhand Sidequest, the report’s authors note that thrifting has turned into a treasure hunt for finding never-worn and hard-to-find archival pieces. Many are on the lookout for unsold inventory, old production pieces and leftovers from the 90s and early 2000s — notably, “repair aesthetic” searches rose 167 percent.
The most searched styles on the platform include “crochet upcycle” (rose 523 percent), “pleated skirt outfits” (rose 427 percent), “upcycle button up” (rose 295 percent), “refashion clothes upcycling” (up 230 percent) and “archive streetwear” (up 157 percent).
“Secondhand fashion reflects a broader shift we’re seeing across Pinterest, as people turn to hands-on hobbies that let them express their personal style. Thrifting has become a creative outlet as Pinners seek out archival and deadstock pieces and use techniques like upcycling and visible mending to give them new life. The result is a wardrobe that feels personal and includes pieces with a story behind them,” said Sydney Stanback, global head of trends and insights at Pinterest.
