Tayion Collection is sticking with Peerless Clothing.

The Detroit-based men’s brand created by Montee Tayion Holland has renewed the licensing deal with the tailored clothing manufacturer that has been in place since 2021, a deal it hopes to use as a jumpstart to enter additional categories.

Under the terms of the three-year agreement that starts on Jan. 1, Peerless will manufacture and distribute Tayion Collection men’s tailored clothing across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The deal covers suits, suit separates, sport coats, vests, dress pants, tuxedos, overcoats and raincoats. The collection will be distributed through leading department stores and better specialty stores in North America and there is an option to renew for another three years.

The deal also positions Tayion Collection for further category expansion into sportswear, neckwear and other products, the company said.

“This partnership represents an important next chapter for Tayion Collection,” Holland said. “Peerless has an exceptional understanding of tailored clothing and the retail landscape, and this agreement allows us to bring the Tayion aesthetic to an even broader audience.”

“Tayion Collection has built a distinctive point of view in contemporary menswear, and we are pleased to expand our relationship with the brand,” said Dan Orwig, president of Peerless Clothing International Inc. “This agreement brings together Tayion’s strong brand identity and connection with today’s consumer with Peerless’ expertise in tailored clothing, manufacturing and retail distribution. We look forward to building the business together across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.”

Jeff Tweedy, managing director of BMBIRD Consultant, who advised on the agreement between the two, said: “I believe Peerless gives Tayion the platform to become a priority in men’s tailored clothing and opens the door for best-in-class licensing partners across other categories.”
