PARISThe Paris location of South Korean concept store Tom Greyhound will shutter at the end of January, the retailer said on Monday.

The news was shared via the store’s Instagram account and confirmed by David Kang, managing director of Handsome Paris, the company’s local subsidiary of Hyundai Group affiliate Handsome Corp. The Paris closure will not affect its South Korean operations.

In a letter to its partners shared with WWD, Tom Greyhound Paris said the decision had been taken by its parent company as part of a new development strategy.

“Since 2014, we have been incredibly fortunate to serve our greatest community. We appreciate your trust and support over the years, it has meant the world to us, and for that, we are eternally grateful and proud,” said the Parisian store.

Plans for the 3,000-square-foot, two-floor unit are not known, although sources say several brands are in the running to take over the Rue de Saintonge spot in the upper Marais.

During its decade of existence, the Parisian retailer has stocked established brands including Dries Van Noten, Loewe, J.W. Anderson, Jacquemus and Y/Project, juxtaposed with up-and-coming names such as Nensi Dojaka, Ader Error and System Studios, a sister brand in the Handsome Corp. stable.

Lifestyle and a clutch of beauty labels like perfume brand Ormaie were also given pride of place on the store’s first floor.

Over the years, Tom Greyhound Paris also held exhibitions and buzzy events. Pamela Anderson made a stop there in 2016 to celebrate a pop-up space dedicated to her vegan shoe line created with French label Amélie Pichard.

The store is slated to close permanently on Jan. 27 and merchandise, including archives, is currently offered at deep discounts between 50 and 70 percent off. A farewell party is planned during Paris Men’s Week to “come say hello and goodbye with a smile,” said the brand.
