Travis Scott celebrated the launch of his brand Cactus Jack’s new collection with students and the football team from Louisiana State University on Wednesday. The hip-hop artist posed for photos and surprised the university’s football team, showing off pieces from the college-themed collaboration.
Scott and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin began the evening by surprising the LSU football team with a gift — pieces from the new collection, which is a collaboration between Cactus Jack, Fanatics, Lids and Mitchell & Ness. The collection is aptly named “Jack Goes Back to College.”
Following their time with the football team, Scott and Rubin went to the LSU bookstore for the midnight launch of the collection. LSU students were among the first to see the new merchandise, gaining exclusive access to various apparel designed with LSU iconography.
Along with LSU, Scott and Rubin will also pay a visit to the University of Texas at Austin and make a trip to the University of Southern California (USC). “Jack Goes Back to College” features a limited-edition assortment of apparel and hats for 28 universities around the country, including Tulane, University of Alabama, University of Michigan and Boston University, among others.
Pieces featured in the collection include T-shirts, crewnecks, hoodies, shorts, sweatpants and backpacks. Also available are Mitchell & Ness snapback hats with a new look courtesy of Cactus Jack and branding provided by the various universities highlighted in the collection.
Items from the collection are available on the Travis Scott website, at select Lids locations, campus bookstores that are operated by Barnes & Noble College and Fanatics.com. Pieces retail from $68 to $160.
Brands and fashion houses Nike, Audemars Piguet, LeBron James’s Uninterrupted and Dior are among the collaboration Cactus Jack and Travis Scott have already made. In June 2021, French fashion house Dior announced a collaboration with the hip-hop artist on their spring 2022 men’s collection. Scott launched Cactus Jack Records in March 2017.
