Elis Kiss has been appointed Vogue Greece’s new editor in chief. She has served as its fashion features director since March 2019, when the publication was launched.

In her new role, Kiss succeeds Thaleia Karafyllidou, who stepped down from the publication earlier this year.

Vogue Greece is published under a license between Condé Nast and Nees Kathimerines Ekdoseis.

Kathimerini media organization said in a statement Monday that Vogue Greece “will continue to grow through a multifaceted and dynamic platform that has established itself as a leader in the local market.”

Kiss has appeared on TV and written articles for Greek and international publications. Prior to joining the Kathimerini media organization, where she has also been a contributing editor to its K magazine and a former arts editor at Kathimerini English Edition, Kiss started her career at the International Herald Tribune. There, she served as an assistant to journalist and fashion critic Suzy Menkes.

Kiss, who was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, studied at the University of Kent and the University of Bologna.

As Vogue Greece’s fashion features director, she has covered the fashion and luxury industries, keeping a keen eye on Greek designers and companies.

“Given her extensive and international journalistic experience in the fashion world, Elis Kiss takes on her EIC duties with a vision of further developing Vogue Greece,” Kathimerini media organization said.
