Good Good Golf‘s cofounder Nahid Giga will take on the role of interim chief executive officer following the departure of two key executives.

Gone are former CEO Matt Kendrick and president Joe Flannery. Business Insider was the first to report on their departure from the company. Their exits follow those of Jeffrey Lefkovits, Good Good’s vice president of brand and marketing, along with Alex Upegui, Callaway’s director of content and production.

Heads rolled following the tone-deaf advertisement on Aug. 21 that showed Good Good cofounder Garrett Clark knocking over brand influencer Alexis Miestowski, a former Division I golfer, over a co-branded driver featuring Callaway branding. The video was taken down a day later following the backlash over the ad.

Both Good Good and Callaway issued apologies.

Callaway Gold chief executive officer Chip Brewer said in his apology that was posted on Instagram that while the video was produced by Good Good, it was approved by Callaway prior to posting and the “approval should never have happened.” He also emphasized the Callaway is “unequivocally against discrimination, domestic violence, or threatening behavior of any kind.”

Good Good was to title-sponsor the PGA Tour’s Good Good Championship in Austin, Texas, from Nov. 12 to 15, but has since stepped down as sponsor due to the fallout. Last month, Callaway ended its partnership with Good Good.

Women comprise one of the fastest-growing participant groups. The National Golf Foundation said in May that the number of female on-course golfers rose 45 percent form 2020 to 2025. Brands are taking notice too, with Cole Haan recently introducing a women’s golf apparel line.
